I know getting started is hard, but sometimes you have to say enough is enough.

Sometimes your supervisor stops you or keeps pushing you, but in reality it should be a personal decision.

For me, I just knew when I couldn't keep writing. It was time to move on and so I stopped adding to my thesis.

How did you, or do you think you will stop?

I suppose it depends whether your supervisor has been heavily involved in the process.

If they are very involved during the PhD then giving them a strong say in the thesis is fine. If they have been quite dis-involved then you should take control. Don't be afraid to stop.
