I have just read the recent blog post here about working and doing a PhD at the same time. Some of my friends have part-time jobs but I just don't think I have time to get one. Although I would like the extra income, I am more worried about my employability when I finish my PhD. How important is work experience like a part-time job alongside your PhD?

If I did get a job then it might jeopardise my PhD, but I do think it would be a good CV point. I am a science PhD so spend a lot of time in the lab.

I would welcome any shared experiences on this one.
